Merit launched their lipsticks a few weeks back. Merit is a luxury clean makeup brand. I love the minimalistic approach to beauty that more beauty brands are embracing these days. So I went to Sephora and swatched the new Merit Signature Lip Lightweight Lipsticks.

Packaging Of The Merit Signature Lip Lightweight Lipstick
The packaging is so beautiful. These lipsticks are packaged in a gold metal container. The lid/cap is a terracotta brown plastic with a stamped logo on the side. The terracotta brown and the gold look really good together. Simple and beautiful in my opinion.
Formula Of The Merit Signature Lip Lightweight Lipstick
According to Sephora this is “A sheer lipstick with a satin finish and the benefits of a lip balm—without the heaviness of a traditional lipstick. This product is vegan, cruelty-free, and comes in recyclable packaging. Plant-derived squalene and sunflower seed oil provide long-lasting moisture. Papain enzyme helps soothe lips. Raspberry oil adds moisture and a light, natural scent.”

My Experience
These New Merit Signature Lip Lightweight Lipsticks are sheer yet buildable. It feels like a balm and I love the consistency. When I went in to Sephora to swatch them, the display had unused testers, which was great for me. I tried them on my arm and since these were unused I also tried the shade Millennial on my lips. The formula is comfortable but since the it’s a sheer, you will have to reapply or touch up after eating/drinking. This is a very pigmented lip balm. Love it! I already have 2 shades in my cart that I’ll purchase during the Sephora Spring Sale Event.
