We’re getting closer to Amazon Prime Day 2020. Amazon has confirmed that it’s annual Prime Day event will take place on October 13 and 14 this year, with 48 hours of deals on electronics, home appliances, fashion, sporting goods, outdoor gear, entertainment and more. Amazon says to expect more than one million deals this year, making it a must-see (and must-shop) event.
Prime Day kicks off at midnight PT on Tuesday, October 13 and runs through Wednesday, October 14, for Prime members in the U.S., U.K, U.A.E, Spain, Singapore, Netherlands, Mexico, Luxembourg, Japan, Italy, Germany, France, China, Canada, Belgium, Austria and Australia.
Though Prime Day has typically been held in July, Amazon announced earlier this year that it would be pushing this year’s event back to the fall, due to concerns over the coronavirus pandemic.
How Long Does Prime Day Last?
Amazon launched Prime Day in 2015 as a one-day shopping event, with the e-tailer and its merchants slashing prices on thousands of items across the site. Prime Day has since expanded to include 48 hours of deals, with Amazon Prime members getting early access.
Do You Need to be an Amazon Prime Member to Shop the Deals?
The short answer is yes. While Amazon has a Daily Deals page that offers discounts and sales to anyone shopping on the site, the best Prime Day deals are reserved exclusively for Amazon Prime members. Amazon Prime members will also get fast, free two-day shipping on most of the items.
This year, Amazon is also offering Prime members a $10 credit to use on Prime Day when members spend $10 on items sold by select small businesses in Amazon’s store.
There are a ton of other benefits to an Amazon Prime membership, which we’ve rounded up here. If you’re not an Amazon Prime member, you can get a 30-day free trial right now which will get you access in time for Prime Day.
What Are the Best Prime Day Deals?
Amazon says to expect more than a million Prime Day deals, from top brands including Panasonic, Keurig, Under Armour, Coleman, Simple Joys by Carter’s, adidas, Lacoste, Marvel, and many more.
