After school, most children like to wear a T-shirt and shorts or pants at home. Some children don’t mind wearing hand-me-downs, while others dislike the idea.
Starchild readers tell us that they like to wear their favourite clothes and shoes when they go out. Some of you want T-shirts with cartoons.
Usually, your mother decides what you wear. However, some of you kick up a fuss so that your mother will let you choose your own clothes.
Here’s what readers had to say on the topic, My Fashion.
Eight-year-old Wong Cheng Yang wants to design clothes with his favourite game characters. “I will design 3D T-shirts. The items will be colourful and glittering, featuring my favourite Pokemon characters like Pikachu, Raboot and Cinderace.”
Sophie Yap Jyn Qing, nine, likes to wear colourful clothes. “I wish I could attend a fashion show. I would love to see some of the latest fashion trends, designed by famous designers.”
Younger sibling Claire Yap Jyn Wei, six, wants to design outfits inspired by patterns on cakes. “The colour themes of my dresses are pink and purple. The highlight is an outfit with long flowing sleeves, which resemble piped icing on a cake. I will also include accessories like pearl and diamond necklaces.”
Seven-year-old Bethany Wang Qi Syuen isn’t particular about fashion. “Normally I wear what I am comfortable in, which is usually a summer dress or a blouse with a skirt. I like pink accessories and think polka dot patterns are nice. I imagine having two-tone hair colour would be fashionable.”
Younger brother Asher Wang Qi Chuen, four, writes: “My fashion choice is a T-shirt with sleeves to keep me warm and long pants with suspenders to hold it in place. I’d wear a cap to protect my hair from the fan, and a pair of comfortable sports shoes to run around in. That’s what I call comfortable.”
“I would design a simple yet elegant lavender gown with a lavender-themed bracelet. This reflects the simplicity of nature,” says Elena Shreeya Vasu, 12.
“My favourite outfit is a blue shirt with pink short pants. I like these clothing because they are comfortable,” says Victoria Liew Yen Yi, 10.
“I want to design simple dresses for tea parties,” writes Mandy Tang, five.
